A Month of Standing Still
Today, once again, I’m working on the renewal of my own website. I spent almost all of June on this renewal, but I don’t feel it was a bad month. It must have been necessary work to move forward. From past experience, I know that when I face even tedious tasks head-on, a part of my mind clears up and I can move on to the next idea. Because I devoted so much time to the renewal, most of my other work came to a halt in June—but from July, it looks like I’ll have time for new pieces and for trial and error.
I’m holding onto many things I want to attempt and many challenges to tackle, yet this month I had a sense of having paused for a while. The website is important, so it can’t be helped—but there were unexpected discoveries and new perspectives that emerged, so perhaps it was necessary work after all. From next month, I plan to steadily try various things again. I hope something big will change—I wonder how things will unfold?
Now, this is the rainy season with plenty of rain, but typhoons are approaching Tokyo as well. What’s more, two are coming at once: Typhoon No.7 “Mekkhala” and Typhoon No.8 “Higos.” It feels like quite a rare phenomenon. Heavy rain is forecast for tomorrow, so I plan to stay inside and finish off the remaining work all at once.
